Jagdalpur/ In response to the onset of the rainy season, the Director of Kanger Valley National Park has announced the closure of all cave sites within the park, including the popular Kotamsar Cave and Kailash Cave, for tourism purposes. This closure will be in effect from June 16 to October 30, 2024, to ensure the safety of visitors.
The decision to prohibit access to these caves comes as a precautionary measure due to the increased risk of hazardous conditions such as flooding and slippery surfaces during the monsoon period. The heavy rains typical of this season can cause rapid changes in cave environments, posing significant risks to tourists.
Kanger Valley National Park is renowned for its rich biodiversity and stunning geological formations, drawing visitors from around the world. However, the safety of tourists remains a top priority. The park authorities will monitor weather conditions closely and issue further updates as necessary.
Visitors are encouraged to explore other attractions within the park that remain open during this period and to adhere to safety guidelines provided by park officials. The closure will be reassessed based on weather conditions, and any changes will be communicated promptly. For more information, tourists can contact the park administration
