Three NMDC Employees Die as Car Plunges into Dalpat Sagar

Jagdalpur / In a tragic incident late last night, three employees of the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) lost their lives when their car plunged into the historic Dalpat Sagar in Jagdalpur, located in the Bastar district headquarters. The victims, identified by the police as Anurag Masih, Sohelrai, and Babydat Hota, were returning from work when the accident occurred. Eyewitnesses reported that the car was traveling at a high speed when it lost control and veered off the road, ultimately falling into the lake.

Local residents immediately alerted the Kotwali police, who quickly responded to the scene. The police, with the help of local divers, managed to retrieve the car and the bodies from the water. According to police sources, the high speed at which the car was traveling made it difficult for the driver to control the vehicle, leading to the fatal plunge.

“Due to the high speed, the car could not be controlled and fell directly into Dalpat Sagar,” stated a police spokesperson. “The occupants did not have time to escape and unfortunately drowned.”

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many mourning the loss of three valued members of the NMDC workforce. The police are conducting further investigations to ascertain more details surrounding the accident.

Dalpat Sagar, a prominent landmark in Jagdalpur, is known not only for its historical significance but also as a recreational spot for locals and tourists. This tragic incident has highlighted the need for increased safety measures and speed regulations in the area to prevent such unfortunate events in the future.
